Role Summary
• A two-year research assistant program at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, one of the twelve regional banks of the US central bank. A research assistant is the economists' right hand: preparing data and analysis for monetary policy briefings, helping with economic forecasts, writing parts of the Bank's newsletters, and working on longer academic research. Most go on to graduate school in economics afterwards.
Responsibilities
• Perform statistical and econometric analysis for research projects.
• Collect and analyze economic and financial data from primary sources.
• Write code in SAS, Stata, R, Python, or Matlab.
• Help prepare reports and presentations for pre-FOMC briefings.
Required Knowledge & Experience
• Degree: Undergraduate or graduate degree in economics, mathematics, or statistics.
• Skills: Programming experience, preferably in SAS, Stata, R, Python or Matlab.
• Coursework: Econometrics or advanced statistics preferred.
• Clearance: Requires U.S. citizenship, permanent residence, or signed intent to naturalize.
Work & Eligibility
• Two-year commitment starting Summer 2026.
