Role Summary
• The Aryeh Neier Fellowship, a two-year fellowship shared between Human Rights Watch and the ACLU, for recent law graduates. The fellow works with both organisations on joint initiatives to strengthen human rights in the United States — monitoring abuses, field research, writing reports and advocating for change.
Responsibilities
• Conduct field research and monitor domestic human rights issues.
• Draft reports and educational materials on human rights conditions.
• Assist with developing litigation strategies and advocacy campaigns.
Required Knowledge & Experience
• Degree: J.D. from a U.S. law school received or expected by June 2027.
• Licensure: Must sit for or pass a U.S. bar exam prior to September 2027.
• Skills: Excellent analytical and writing skills required; second language proficiency preferred.
Work & Eligibility
• Two-year fellowship starting September 2027, primarily split between HRW and ACLU offices.
