Role Summary
• A fall 2026 research internship on the African Affairs team at the Hudson Institute, a conservative-leaning Washington think tank on security and foreign policy. The intern supports scholars studying great power competition in Africa, especially China's development projects there, with research and administrative help — and spends time discussing the issues with the experts.
Responsibilities
• Gather and analyze primary source data for reports, op-eds, articles, and briefing memos.
• Monitor current events and brief experts and team members.
• Assist with research projects, presentations, administrative tasks, and event support.
Required Knowledge & Experience
• Majors: Political science, international relations, economics, security studies, or African affairs.
• Knowledge: Demonstrated interest in African affairs and China-Africa relations.
• Languages: Especially interested in candidates with Chinese or French language skills.
Work & Eligibility
• Dates: August 24 to December 4, 2026.
• Eligibility: Open to current undergraduate or graduate students and recent graduates.
• A preference for in-person work.
