Role Summary
• A combined program coordinator and research assistant in the front office of the Economics Program and Scholl Chair at CSIS, one of Washington's largest bipartisan foreign policy and security think tanks. The role keeps the department running — managing programs, organising events and handling communications — while also doing policy research for its scholars.
Responsibilities
• Provide administrative, operational, and project management support to department leadership.
• Track project deliverables, budget items, and department-wide initiatives.
• Coordinate meetings, travel logistics, event planning, and stakeholder engagement.
• Support intern onboarding and executive administrative processes.
Required Knowledge & Experience
• Degree: Bachelor's in public policy, international relations, economics, political science, business, communications or a related field.
• Preferred: Experience supporting events, research projects, strategic communications or operations.
• Ideal: Experience supporting senior leadership, managing several projects, and conducting policy research on technical, economic, technology or national security topics.
