Role Summary
• A policy analyst in the federal government relations practice of Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, one of Washington's largest lobbying and law firms, on its technology and telecommunications team. A policy analyst is a lobbying team's eyes on Washington: tracking and summarising legislation, executive orders, regulations and congressional activity so the lobbyists can advise clients.
Responsibilities
• Monitor, track, and report on legislative and regulatory developments for clients.
• Write weekly policy summaries, one-pagers, meeting notes, and client updates.
• Cover Congressional hearings and prepare background materials.
• Help coordinate client fly-ins and meetings with Capitol Hill and agency officials.
Required Knowledge & Experience
• Degree: Bachelor's in political science, public policy, computer science, engineering, economics, or related field.
• Background: Experience in Congress, the executive branch, campaigns, advocacy and lobbying, or policy research (listed among the required and preferred qualifications); previous experience supporting technology, telecommunications or AI clients preferred.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with federal tech and telecom legislative and regulatory processes.
