Role Summary
• A staff assistant on the health policy team of the Senate HELP Committee — the committee for health, education, labour and pensions — working for its ranking member, Senator Bernie Sanders. A committee staff assistant is the entry-level member of the team: handling its administration and correspondence, managing interns, doing research, and helping staff prepare briefing materials.
Responsibilities
• Manage administrative tasks for professional staff and oversee committee interns.
• Conduct research, track correspondence, and assist in preparing briefing materials.
• Assist with committee hearings, events, and general committee business.
Required Knowledge & Experience
• Experience: Previous professional experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge: Strong interest in health policy required.
