Role Summary
• An entry-level research job at the Democratic National Committee, the Democratic Party's national organisation. In campaign research — often called opposition research — staff dig through public records, campaign finance reports, interviews, social media and legislation to understand candidates and issues, and watch the news to supply facts for the party's rapid response and messaging.
Responsibilities
• Analyze news clips, campaign finance data, corporate filings, voting histories, and government records.
• Produce succinct research briefs and narratives for communications and rapid response teams.
• Track local and national political news to identify rapid response opportunities.
Required Knowledge & Experience
• Skills: Knowledge of U.S. politics and the legislative process; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Degree: Bachelor's degree preferred.
• A plus: knowledge of Nexis, campaign finance databases, federal and state vote analysis and primary sources; political research, campaign or government experience.
