Role Summary
• A two-year research analyst job at a regional Federal Reserve Bank, one of the twelve banks of the US central bank. A research analyst supports the Bank's economists — analysing current economic conditions and doing the data work behind their long-term research — including material for briefings before Federal Open Market Committee meetings, where interest rates are set.
Responsibilities
• Access, clean, and visualize economic datasets.
• Conduct statistical, econometric, and quantitative modeling.
• Draft background analysis, policy memos, and articles for bank publications.
Required Knowledge & Experience
• Degree: bachelor's degree with coursework in economics and math through multivariable calculus.
• Skills: familiarity with programming in STATA, R, Python, or EViews.
Work & Eligibility
• Program length: two-year commitment.
• Eligibility: restricted to U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents declaring intent to naturalize due to FOMC data access requirements.
