Role Summary
• An internship in the Critical Minerals Security Program at CSIS, one of Washington's largest bipartisan foreign policy and security think tanks. The program studies the supply of minerals essential to defense and clean energy — like lithium and rare earths — and how to reduce the US's dependence on China for them; the intern supports its research and events.
Responsibilities
• Conduct research, monitor policy developments, and compile critical minerals data.
• Attend external lectures and events to summarize key debriefs.
• Assist program staff with event execution and administrative duties.
Required Knowledge & Experience
• Qualifications: College junior status or higher, or recent graduate with strong research and computer skills.
• Preferred: A demonstrated interest in critical minerals or mining (experience or specific knowledge not required), and experience with data collection and management.
Work & Eligibility
• Schedule: 35 hours per week preferred, starting September 2026.
• Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
