Role Summary
• Entry-level federal advocacy role with PIRG advocating on consumer protection, toxic pollution, plastic waste, and product safety before Congress and federal agencies.
Responsibilities
• Lobby members of Congress and federal agencies, and organize federal lobby day events.
• Build advocacy coalitions and conduct public education and media outreach.
• Research policy issues, analyze data, and author reports to influence public debate.
• Manage a summer grassroots campaign office, including fundraising and staff management.
Required Knowledge & Experience
• Skills: Strong public speaking and writing abilities.
• Experience: Leadership or campus/community organizing experience preferred.
Work & Eligibility
• Regular travel, evening/weekend hours, and summer office relocation required.
