Role Summary
• A summer research assistant job at the Federal Judicial Center, the federal courts' own research and education agency, for law students. The assistant researches legal questions and helps with analysis behind the Center's reports and training for federal judges and court staff.
Responsibilities
• Perform legal research and analyze federal court operations and procedures.
• Draft research summaries, legal memos, and analytical reports.
• Support multidisciplinary teams on agency research projects.
Required Knowledge & Experience
• Degree: Current full-time enrollment in an accredited law degree program.
• Skills: Strong legal research, analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills.
Work & Eligibility
• Hours: 30 to 39 hours per week in summer; 12 to 15 hours per week during spring and fall (8-week minimum summer commitment).
