Role Summary
• Assists the AARP Washington team with state policy research, community outreach, volunteer programming, and event execution focused on health and financial security issues.
Responsibilities
• Conduct research on state policy issues and best practices to draft advocacy and outreach materials.
• Assist with virtual and in-person community engagement events, materials preparation, and partner coordination.
• Help coordinate volunteer outreach programming and maintain volunteer correspondence.
• Design basic event flyers and promotional graphics for outreach efforts.
Required Knowledge & Experience
• Skills: Strong research, analytical, and project management capabilities.
• Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Zoom.
Work & Eligibility
• Dates: Fall 2026 through the end of the year, with potential extension.
• Academic Standing: Must be an enrolled rising undergraduate junior or senior, graduate student, or post-doctoral student.
