Role Summary • A legal externship with POLITICO's in-house legal team — POLITICO being the political news outlet — offered year-round. Externs work as generalists across employment law, data privacy, commercial contracts, intellectual property and litigation, supervised by the company's senior counsel and chief legal officer. Responsibilities • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda across multiple practice areas. • Assist with labor and employment matters, union compliance, and data privacy efforts. • Support contract management, due diligence, trademark analysis, and litigation tracking. Required Knowledge & Experience • Degree: Current J.D. candidate at an ABA-accredited law school; 2L or 3L preferred. • Tools: Experience with Westlaw or LexisNexis. Work & Eligibility • Requires academic credit eligibility. • Offered full-time or part-time during spring, summer, or fall terms.
