Case Officer

Role Summary • An entry-level case officer — the CIA's clandestine operations officer — in its Directorate of Operations. Case officers secretly find, assess, recruit and manage foreign sources with access to intelligence vital to US national security; it is the core spy role, with careers spent largely overseas. Responsibilities • Clandestinely spot, assess, develop, and handle foreign human intelligence sources. • Formulate creative solutions to complex operational and intelligence problems. • Work collaboratively as part of Directorate of Operations teams.
