Role Summary
• A two-year environmental justice legal fellowship, starting August 2027: the first year as a lawyer at the Natural Resources Defense Council — one of the largest US environmental advocacy groups — and the second as a clinical fellow at Yale Law School, supervising students on environmental justice cases.
Responsibilities
• Year 1 (NRDC): Build community partnerships, conduct legal research, draft filings, review environmental reviews, and advocate on regulations.
• Year 2 (Yale): Supervise student attorneys on clinic matters, co-teach clinical seminars, manage case intake, and participate in clinical faculty activities.
Required Knowledge & Experience
• Degree: J.D. earned within three years prior to August 2027.
• Bar: Admitted to or eligible for bar admission in the Year 1 location.
• Demonstrated interest in environmental law, civil rights, or Tribal sovereignty.
Work & Eligibility
• Term: Two-year fellowship (August 2027 to August 2029).
